06.11.2020: Studying at the KIT in Times of the Corona Pandemic
Dear Students,
On November 02, the New Corona Ordinance on Academic Education Operations and the Arts of the State Ministry for Science became effective.
As a consequence, courses at KIT will take place online exclusively in the month of November at least. According to the Corona Ordinance, there may be exceptions for examinations and practical courses, which have to be permitted by the university management. For this reason, the Executive Board of KIT, earlier this week, passed decisions about which we would like to inform you.
As you already know, no on-campus courses take place in this week from November 02 to 07. Online courses and lectures started on November 02 as planned.

Which Regulations Apply to Examinations?
On-campus examinations planned and announced for the period from November 02 to 14 may take place as announced (decision by the President at short notice of November 02). As of November 16, examinations, in particular final examinations, which are envisaged by the studies and examination regulations and module manuals and are urgently required for the progress of studies in the 2020/21 winter term, but cannot be replaced by using electronic information and communication technologies, may also take place on campus (decision by the Executive Board of November 04, 2020).

Which Regulations Will Apply to Practical Courses as of November 09?
As of November 09, practical on-campus courses will be permitted, in particular courses requiring special laboratories or work rooms, including sports facilities, such as laboratory exercises. This will also hold for courses of predominantly practical character envisaged by the studies and examination regulations and the module manual and urgently required for the progress of studies in the 2020/21 winter term. This permit also covers practical work as part of graduation theses, for which special laboratories and work rooms are required and which cannot be replaced by using electronic information and communication technologies (decision by the Executive Board of November 04, 2020).

Dear students, you are urgently asked to register for all your courses on our ILIAS learning platform (https://ilias.studium.kit.edu/) to enable your lecturers to inform you at short notice of how your courses will take place. Please make sure that emails from the ILIAS system really reach you.
Despite this difficult situation, we wish you a good start of the winter term!

15.Apr.2020: All lectures will take place online for the time being
All IBT lectures will initially take place online in the 2020 summer semester. An exception to this is the Praktikum Biomedizinische Messtechnik, which is postponed to the winter semester 20/21.
All students interested in our courses should join the relevant work areas in ILIAS (no password required). Detailed information on the teaching concept, dial-up options, communication channels, etc. is then communicated via ILIAS for each course. Direct links to the individual ILIAS work areas can be found on the respective lecture pages on the IBT homepage.
