By car

Leave Autobahn A5 Exit No. 44 (Karlsruhe/Karlsruhe-Durlach).
 Take Bundesstraße B10 towards Karlsruhe (do not go to Karlsruhe-Durlach). Follow the signs to "KIT Campus Süd" (right lane, but don't turn right). Arriving at "Durlacher Tor" turn right (follow "Neureut/KIT/Stadion").
 Take left lane (sign "KIT"), which leads you directly towards the university's main entrance. You will get a permit from the gate keeper. Drive along Engesserstraße until Fritz-Haber-Weg. Turn right into Fritz-Haber-Weg. Left from the first curve you see a yellow building: the IBT (Building No. 30.33). Our institute is located in 5th floor.

 

By public transportation

Exit the train at Karlsruhe main station.

Leave the station by using the main exit. On forecourt you will find the stages for busses and trams. One of the following will take you to the KIT Campus South:

  • S4 heading to Eppingen
  • S7 heading to Tullastraße
  • S8 heading to Tullastraße
  •  2 heading to Wolfartsweier
  •  3 heading to Rintheim

You will need a 2-zone-ticket. You get the ticket on stage A. Please don't forget to stamp your ticket in the tram.

Exit the tram at "Kronenplatz". Cross the crossing towards the postal office (Berliner Platz). Go towards the information panel (Englerstraße). Turn right into Engelbert-Arnold-Straße. Turn left past building 11.10 (Elektrotechnisches Institut). Just follow the streets now (Irene-Rosenberg-Straße and Fritz-Haber-Weg). Left of the first curve of Fritz-Haber-Weg you will find a big yellow building. That's the IBT (building 30.33). You will find our institute in 5th floor.

 

By plane

The nearest airport can be found in Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart and Straßburg.
It takes about an hour to get to Karlsruhe from either of those airports by train. Please take a look at the electronical information system of Deutsche Bahn AG for train connections.
