We are seeking a research assistant and PhD candidate for the SFB „Wave Phenomena“ (http://www.waves.kit.edu) for the project B7 „Dynamics of Cardiac Depolarization Waves“. In this project the spread of depolarization waves in the heart is investigated both from a mathematical point of view and from a biomedical engineering / cardiology point of view. Our goal is to develop, numerically realize and mathematically analyse a fully coupled model for the cardiac electromechanical system and to describe the dynamics of the main types of depolarization waves.

The candidate should have a strong background in numerical methods for differential equations and basic knowledge in biomedical engineering and computational modelling.
