Investigation of vessel density in OCTA images
OCTA is an emerging technology enabling novel applications. Its use in ophthalmology to visualize the vessels on the retina in 3D provides the physicians valuable information on a patients condition. The subjective evaluation by the physician comprises inter- and intra-individual variations. Therefore, an objective measure should be developed. The quantification of the vessel density is a challenge. Using different methods to asses the density could reveal information on the vascularization of the retina. This can be used to determine whether the treatment is going well or not.
