The project comprises 3D EIT simulations with the MATLAB toolbox EIDORS. The student shall develop 3D meshes of a human subject and a porcine model, simulate the EIT problem with the standard electrode position of the Dräger EIT belt in EIDORS and quantify the sensitivity from different regions within the lungs. The sensitivity shall be hereby modeled by inserting small tissue areas with blood like conductivity within lung tissue with a corresponding conductivity.
