The Institute of Biomedical Engineering welcomes Mr. Moritz Linder as a new research associate. Since May 2023, he has been working on the simulation and modeling of sinoatrial node cells within the "Computational Cardiac Modeling" research group. Among other topics, the influence of the autonomic nervous system in combination with reduced extracellular calcium concentration on several cell models will be investigated.

Moritz Linder completed a master's degree in mechatronics and information technology at the KIT. Thereby, his research topics focused on the classification of different atrial flutter mechanisms. Afterwards, he worked at B. Braun as software developer and data scientist for two years, while mainly working on the algorithms for an innovative automated blood analyzing system for determining important blood parameters of ICU patients as well as the prediction of the fluid balance of ICU patients.
