New Research Associate at the IBT

Jule Bender is working on cohort modeling of the human atria for in silico trials

The Institute of Biomedical Engineering welcomes Jule Bender as a new research associate. Since July 2025, she has been working on the modeling of virtual patient cohorts in the research group "Computational Cardiac Modeling".
This project will develop methodology for cohort-based simulations and use it to evaluate the atrial fibrillation vulnerability of selected patient groups.

Jule Bender studied Mathematics in Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and has been working at IBT since fall 2021. She wrote her thesis in cooperation with the Institute for Applied and Numerical Mathematics and was employed as a student assistant at IBT during her studies.
