Last month, Beatriz Cruzeiro attended the latest session of the European Congress of Medical Physics (ECMP), held in Valencia, Spain, from 23 to 26 September 2026. Organised by the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP), the congress brought together medical physicists, clinicians, researchers, and industry partners from across Europe and beyond.
The event highlighted the latest developments in radiotherapy, diagnostic and interventional imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation protection, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in clinical practice.
During the congress, Beatriz participated in plenary sessions, scientific presentations, and EFOMP activities for early-career researchers. She also attended an educational workshop focusing on the physics, technology, and biology of clinical proton and ion beam therapy.
The programme provided valuable insights into current research trends and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on how innovative approaches are validated and safely integrated into clinical practice. The experience also offered excellent opportunities for professional exchange and networking within the international medical physics community.
