This project focuses on the development of an improved physical phantom for simulating lung collapse during surgical pneumothorax. Building upon an initial prototype, the student will work on enhancing the design, materials, and mechanical behavior of the model to achieve more realistic and controllable deformation. The goal is to create a reliable and reproducible platform that can support research in surgical planning, simulation, and validation of computational models.
